Design Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the design system at Ambrook, the full-time Design Systems Engineer will build and evolve the component library and frontend infrastructure while driving migrations and ensuring frontend performance in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build and evolve the design system, including component library, interaction patterns, and design tokens for web and mobile
• Drive migrations and adoption of the design system into the product, managing breaking changes and team collaboration
• Ensure frontend performance by managing bundle size, render performance, and accessibility as key features

Required qualifications

• Proficiency in TypeScript and React with a strong understanding of data structures and async programming
• Experience owning a design system or shared component library in production, including versioning and migrations
• Ability to address frontend performance and accessibility as engineering challenges
• Familiarity with using coding agents for migrations and adoption across large codebases
• Strong design instincts to evaluate UI quality, even with a focus on coding over design tools
