Design Technologist

Job Summary

Bridging design and engineering, the full-time remote Design Technologist will build production-ready UI components, maintain a design system, and prototype innovative interactions for mission-critical applications in aviation and defense.

Key responsibilities

• Build and ship production-ready UI components from design specs, focusing on performance and scalability
• Develop and maintain a design system in code, ensuring synchronization of design tokens and component libraries
• Prototype novel interactions and data visualizations to test new product proposals in interactive environments

Required qualifications

• Strong front-end engineering skills, particularly in TypeScript, React, and modern CSS
• Experience building and maintaining design systems in code, including design tokens and component libraries
• Fluency in translating high-fidelity designs into pixel-accurate implementations for data-rich environments
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to align implementation with operational needs
• Understanding of responsive design and accessibility best practices
