Job Summary

Seeking a part-time, remote International Student Advisor (ISA), the Designated School Official (DSO) will provide comprehensive advising on immigration, employment, and academic matters, ensuring compliance with university policies and federal regulations while supporting the success of international students.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advising on immigration and academic issues to maintain students' legal non-immigrant status
• Process and sign immigration documents for F-1 visa holders, including employment authorizations and program extensions
• Manage SEVIS records and ensure compliance with Department of Homeland Security guidelines

Required qualifications

• Eligibility for certification by DHS as a Designated School Official (DSO); must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident
• Master's degree and/or equivalent related experience preferred
• Prior experience working with international student populations in a higher education setting
• Demonstrated proficiency using the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS)
• Experience providing virtual advising and student support
