Designated Service Engineer
Job Summary
Serving as the primary Ceph subject matter expert for assigned strategic customers, the full-time Designated Service Engineer will manage the design, deployment, and lifecycle operations of Ceph-based object storage environments while ensuring customer success and high-quality service in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and operate large-scale production Ceph clusters, focusing on availability and performance
- Act as the technical liaison between customers and WEKA Engineering, addressing feature gaps and reliability concerns
- Proactively monitor customer environments and resolve technical issues, ensuring the highest level of service and support
Required qualifications
- 10+ years in customer-facing technical roles with experience in enterprise infrastructure
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Ceph in production environments
- Strong understanding of Ceph internals and operational mechanics
- Experience with large-scale Ceph environments and troubleshooting complex issues
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix administration and scripting languages such as Python and/or Bash
