Designer and Senior Designer

Job Summary

Seeking two highly motivated individuals, the remote full-time Designer and Senior Designer will collaborate with art directors and editors to create engaging young adult book covers, managing the design process from concept to final art and print-ready PDFs.

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborate with team members to develop high-quality cover designs and sales materials for assigned titles
• Research and present design concepts, art directing illustrators and photographers throughout the creative process
• Prepare mechanicals for production while adhering to printing standards and timelines

Required qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in a publishing or editorial design role
• Strong proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, with basic knowledge of Illustrator and Acrobat
• A portfolio showcasing innovative book cover design and typography
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Deep interest in young adult literature and cultural competence in representation
