Job Summary
To support the development of future educators, the hybrid full-time Instructor of Development will deliver classroom instruction on human development, mentor graduate students, and lead professional development workshops for public school educators.
Key responsibilities
- Teach courses on infant, child, and adolescent development, focusing on inclusive educational settings
- Provide mentorship and academic advising to graduate students, including supervision of their Integrative Master's Projects
- Develop course syllabi and lead professional development workshops for educators across New York City
Required qualifications
- Master's Degree in Curriculum Studies in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Education, Childhood Development, or a related field
- Five years of experience as a classroom instructor or in a related position
- Experience teaching graduate-level courses in higher education settings
- Demonstrated record of academic scholarship
- Proficiency in applying developmental theory and child assessment methods, including social-emotional learning strategies
