Job Summary
Providing senior-level accessibility expertise on a part-time freelance basis, the Digital Accessibility Director will focus on PDF tagging and remediation, defining accessibility strategies, and ensuring compliance with WCAG standards while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Define the accessibility approach for document content, including tooling and PDF tagging workflows
- Direct the PDF tagging process to ensure compliance with PDF/UA and WCAG standards
- Evaluate and recommend tools for tagging, remediation, and testing, balancing automation with manual quality assurance
Required qualifications
- Expert-level knowledge of digital accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2, Section 508) and practical experience in PDF tagging
- Working familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Pro's tagging environment and common tagging challenges
- Ability to advise clients on accessibility strategies while managing practical PDF work realities
- Experience working independently as a freelancer, setting direction with client stakeholders
