Job Summary
To support cybersecurity investigations, the part-time Digital Forensics Analyst will collect, preserve, analyze, and document digital evidence related to incidents and legal proceedings while maintaining evidence integrity and producing detailed reports.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct forensic examinations of various digital devices to determine the nature of security incidents
- Reconstruct timelines, identify attacker activity, and recover deleted artifacts during investigations
- Produce detailed investigative reports suitable for review by executives, legal, regulatory, and law enforcement entities
Required qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of digital forensics principles and evidence preservation techniques
- Experience using industry-standard forensic tools across multiple operating systems and platforms
- Strong documentation skills due to the legal and evidentiary nature of forensic work
- Required certifications include GCFA, GCFE, EnCE, CHFI, CFCE, or equivalent forensic certifications
- Demonstrated patience, precision, and objectivity in producing defensible findings based on evidence
