Job Summary
Focused on collecting and analyzing digital evidence, the part-time Digital Forensics Analyst will conduct forensic examinations of various digital environments and support investigations related to cybersecurity incidents and legal proceedings.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, preserve, analyze, and document digital evidence from computers, mobile devices, and cloud environments
- Reconstruct timelines and identify attacker activity while maintaining evidence integrity and following chain-of-custody procedures
- Produce detailed investigative reports for executive, legal, regulatory, and law enforcement review
Required qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of digital forensics principles and evidence preservation techniques
- Experience with industry-standard forensic tools and investigations across various operating systems and platforms
- Strong documentation skills due to the legal nature of forensic work
- Patience, precision, and objectivity in producing defensible findings
- Required certifications include GCFA, GCFE, EnCE, CHFI, CFCE, or equivalent forensic certifications
