Digital Matte Painting Artist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Digital Matte Painting Artist in the Games department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create digital paintings of photo-realistic environments based on concept art and/or photo reference
• Collaborate with the art team to develop high-quality matte paintings and set extensions
• Assist in integrating matte paintings into 3D environments and work closely with 3D artists

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Digital Matte Painting with 2+ years in game development
• Shipped at least 2 games in a Digital Matte Painting role, preferably AAA titles
• Strong knowledge of matte painting techniques, Photoshop, and 3D integration
• Understanding of light, color, perspective, and matte painting pipelines
• Expertise in Photoshop, with additional experience in game engines and other software as a plus
