Job Summary
To support the Licensing Department's mission, the full-time Digital Resources Licensing Librarian will manage the contract review and negotiation process for license agreements and related documents while providing guidance on information policy matters related to licensed resources, with eligibility for remote work.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the contract review and negotiation process for license agreements and related documents governing digital resources
- Evaluate vendor-proposed terms, interpret contract language, and negotiate agreements to secure favorable terms for the library
- Provide guidance on copyright, privacy, accessibility, and data use matters to library staff and campus stakeholders
Required qualifications
- Advanced Degree in Library Science or a relevant academic discipline with experience in academic libraries
- At least three to four years of experience in library technical services, collections, acquisitions, or licensing
- Demonstrated experience reviewing, negotiating, and interpreting license agreements or related legal documents
- Knowledge of digital resources, licensing principles, and legal considerations affecting digital resources
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
