Director of AI Engineering

Job Summary

Leading the evolution of AI systems, the full-time remote Director of AI Engineering will own the end-to-end AI system layer at Jobber, focusing on integrating intelligent workflows across the product to enhance user experience for small service businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement how AI operates across the entire product, ensuring seamless integration of intelligent workflows
• Manage a multi-team organization to execute the vision for AI-powered business operations
• Drive cross-organizational alignment and challenge assumptions to foster a system-thinking approach

Required qualifications

• Proven experience building and leading production AI systems, particularly in agent orchestration and workflow execution
• Strong background in managing multiple teams and driving organizational growth in complex environments
• Deep understanding of product and systems thinking, with a focus on customer outcomes
• Experience in evaluating AI systems for reliability, safety, and performance improvements
• Ability to balance speed, quality, and safety in execution while navigating technical debt
