Director of Analytics Engineering

Job Summary

Leading the data modeling function, the full-time remote Director of Analytics Engineering will manage a high-performing team, own the semantic layer and data models that support business decision-making, and collaborate closely with Finance and Data Analysts to ensure data quality and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain a scalable semantic layer for business metrics and KPIs, ensuring data quality and governance
• Hire, develop, and mentor a team of analytics engineers while fostering a culture of high standards in code quality and documentation
• Serve as the primary data modeling partner to Finance, translating analytical requirements into reusable models for self-service analytics

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data, with 3+ years in analytics engineering or a related function
• 5+ years of people management experience with a proven track record of building and developing teams
• Deep expertise with dbt and strong proficiency in Snowflake, including query optimization and cost management
• Experience collaborating with Finance or business operations teams, with fluency in their domain and SQL
• Proficiency with Tableau or similar BI tools, with an understanding of effective data modeling from a consumer perspective
