Job Summary
To drive the design and execution of high-performance AI inference chips, the remote Director of ASIC Design will lead the ASIC development team, oversee the full chip development lifecycle, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, while being based in the Austin, Texas metropolitan area for occasional in-person engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, verification, and implementation of AI inference hardware, defining ASIC architecture and optimizing power, performance, and area (PPA) trade-offs
- Oversee RTL design, physical design, and validation processes, ensuring successful tape-out and production ramp-up
- Collaborate with software teams and manage relationships with foundries and IP vendors to ensure hardware/software co-design optimizations
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 12+ years of experience in ASIC development, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of delivering multiple ASIC/COT projects from concept to mass production
- Deep understanding of digital design, verification, physical design, and manufacturing processes
- Strong knowledge of RTL design (Verilog/SystemVerilog), synthesis, and timing closure
