Director of Claims

Job Summary

Leading the development of a high-performing claims organization, the remote Director of Claims will manage complex claims, drive operational excellence, and mentor claims professionals while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the AVP, Claims to scale a best-in-class claims organization focused on exceptional outcomes
• Serve as a senior resource for complex claims, providing guidance on coverage analysis, liability assessments, and claim resolution strategies
• Oversee relationships with external partners and utilize data analytics to improve claims operations and performance

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive claims experience within commercial or specialty insurance
• Significant experience managing complex casualty, liability, or specialty claims
• Demonstrated leadership experience in developing claims professionals
• Experience overseeing litigation and managing external counsel and vendor partners
• Professional insurance designation (CPCU, AIC, ACII, or equivalent) preferred
