Director of Clinical Operations

Job Summary

Leading financial planning and operational oversight for clinical development programs, the full-time salaried Director of Clinical Operations will manage budgeting, forecasting, and contract management activities while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and management of clinical trial budgets and forecasts, monitoring actual spend against budget
• Oversee the lifecycle of clinical contracts, including negotiations with CROs and vendors to ensure cost efficiency
• Act as a key business partner to Clinical Operations and other departments, providing financial guidance and supporting governance meetings

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience in clinical finance or contract management within biotech/pharma
• 5+ years of leadership or people management experience
• Strong understanding of clinical trial processes and cost drivers across phases (Phase I-IV)
• Proven experience negotiating complex clinical contracts
• Experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills
