Director of Collections and Repayment

Job Summary

Leading a team of Collection Agents, the full-time remote Director of Collections and Repayment will oversee the university's student accounts collections operations, implement collection strategies, and enhance student loan delinquency prevention efforts while ensuring compliance and ethical practices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, hire, onboard, and develop collections and repayment staff, ensuring effective training in compliance and student-centered service
• Set and monitor performance goals, fostering a positive and results-driven culture within the team
• Oversee daily collections operations, including account prioritization, payment plans, and continuous strategy refinement to maximize recovery

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of progressive experience in collections or related financial operations
• 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a metric-driven environment
• Experience managing external collection agencies or vendors
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to build performance metrics and operational data
• Proficiency with student information systems and collections platforms
