Director of Communications

Job Summary

Leading the strategic narrative for the Powerful Learning team, the full-time Director of Communications will develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy, promote advocacy positions, and enhance organizational alignment while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a communications strategy that aligns with organizational goals and promotes Powerful Learning initiatives
• Collaborate with leadership to translate research into advocacy tools and support policy promotion efforts
• Create engaging content and oversee media relations to amplify Digital Promise's impact and thought leadership

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, with at least 3+ years in a management role
• Demonstrated experience in federal and/or state policy environments
• Expert oral and written communication skills with the ability to synthesize technical research into compelling narratives
• Experience managing complex multimedia projects involving visual, video, and audio components
• Proficiency in WordPress, CRM platforms, and social media analytics
