Job Summary
Leading the development and execution of communications for the Provost's Office, the full-time salaried Director of Communications will manage high-level messaging, including speeches and digital content, while collaborating with senior leadership to align institutional priorities and enhance the university's strategic goals.
Key responsibilities
- Direct the creation of executive communications, ensuring alignment with the Provost's voice and institutional priorities
- Serve as the lead communications strategist, advising on high-level messaging and reputational considerations
- Oversee the digital presence of the Provost's Office, including website governance and audience engagement strategies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
- Progressive experience in executive communications or high-level editorial roles (typically 7+ years)
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong familiarity with AP style
- Experience in a confidential, high-profile executive or academic leadership environment
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and executive presentation development
