Job Summary
To establish a strong brand presence in public safety technology, the full-time remote Director of Communications will manage high-stakes media relations, execute a proactive PR strategy, and oversee crisis communications while leading a small team of media relations experts.
Key responsibilities
- Build and execute a proactive external communications and PR strategy to position the company as a leader in public safety technology
- Manage crisis communications and issues management to protect the company's reputation across public platforms
- Partner with executive leadership to enhance thought leadership and secure high-impact media placements
Required qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience in communications, media relations, or PR leadership, preferably in tech or public policy
- Proven track record in managing crisis communications and maintaining relationships with top-tier national media
- Strong executive presence with experience in media training and advising C-suite leaders
- Desire to learn about policy communications and strategies
- Experience in public sector, law enforcement, or civic technology is a plus
