Director of Credit

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time remote Director of Credit, the successful candidate will manage large-ticket underwriting, hold credit authority for escalations, and develop syndication relationships while driving innovative credit solutions in a rapidly growing fintech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite large-ticket commercial credit files, utilizing AI for financial analysis and structuring solutions
• Act as a key escalation point for credit decisions, ensuring timely responses and maintaining exception discipline
• Develop and manage syndication relationships, ensuring clarity and consistency in credit file presentations for external partners

Required qualifications

• 6 to 12+ years in commercial credit, specifically in equipment leasing or specialty finance
• Experience personally underwriting and signing large-ticket commercial credit of $1M+, with comfort at the $2.5M level
• Strong background in leasing structures, residuals, and lessor economics
• Proven syndication experience, understanding third-party credit committee requirements
• Demonstrated ability to exercise credit judgment on imperfect files and produce persuasive credit memos
