Director of Data

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Director of Data to lead its data department and drive data strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop three sub-teams: Platform Engineering & ETL, Analytics Engineering, and Data Science & Analytics
• Own the Data Lakehouse architecture and make build-vs-buy decisions on tooling
• Collaborate with various departments to translate business needs into data products and manage infrastructure costs

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering or analytics, including 3+ years managing data teams
• Deep experience with modern data stack and ETL/ELT patterns at scale
• Track record of building self-service analytics capabilities for non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with financial data in fintech or financial services
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience managing distributed teams
