Director of Data

Job Summary

Driving data strategy and analytics in a remote, full-time capacity, the Director of Data will lead a small team to enhance marketplace value for suppliers and buyers, develop customer-facing insights, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage data for business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the VP of Product to develop data strategies that enhance platform differentiation and customer engagement
• Define marketplace liquidity metrics and deliver insights to support decision-making across Operations, Product, and senior leadership
• Recruit and lead a data team, fostering a culture of ownership and analytical rigor to drive business impact

Required qualifications

• 7-10+ years in analytics or data science, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in a high-growth B2B SaaS or marketplace environment
• Direct experience with CPG and retail data metrics and their application across the supply chain
• Proven track record of delivering customer-facing data products that drive measurable business value
• Hands-on experience with SQL and the modern data stack, alongside expertise in AI/ML applications
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence decisions across Product, Engineering, and senior leadership
