Director of Data and AI/ML

Job Summary

To drive the intelligence strategy and oversee the development of the Stratus Intelligence Platform, the remote Director of Data and AI/ML will manage the AI roadmap, build a high-performing team, and ensure the successful execution of machine learning workloads that deliver customer value.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the CTO to set and execute the intelligence strategy and roadmap
• Build and develop the Intelligence team, fostering a strong culture and operational rhythm
• Establish the canonical data substrate and ML/AI platform, ensuring production readiness and trust patterns for AI workloads

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in AI/ML, data engineering, or data science, with 4+ years in leadership roles at a B2B SaaS or AI/ML platform company
• Proven track record of building and leading AI/ML teams of 5-15 people
• Deep technical knowledge of modern AI/ML stacks and experience shipping production workloads to enterprise customers
• Hands-on player-coach experience, comfortable with technical design reviews and architecture discussions
• Strong hiring track record, with recent experience building AI/ML teams
