Director of Data Engineering

Job Summary

Leading a growing data engineering function, the full-time remote Director of Data Engineering will manage a team to build a modern data platform, enabling effective scaling across industry projects while collaborating with Product, Marketing, and Sales teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers to enhance the data engineering practice
• Design and implement scalable data pipelines for processing and storing large volumes of data
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical requirements and data models

Required qualifications

• A degree (BS+) in Computer Science or a related field
• 15+ years of experience in quantitative data analysis and complex problem solving, preferably with product and GTM teams
• 5+ years of experience leading Data Engineering teams
• Extensive experience in building and maintaining data-intensive applications and sophisticated data pipelines
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and expert-level SQL
