Director of Data Engineering

Job Summary

To define the vision and execute the long-term strategy for the global data ecosystem, the full-time remote Director of Data Engineering will oversee the re-architecture of the data warehouse, manage data governance frameworks, and drive cross-functional data initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define a 2-3 year vision for the data platform and align initiatives with company goals to drive business growth
• Build and scale a multi-tiered engineering organization, fostering a culture of technical excellence and mentorship
• Establish global standards for data quality, security, and privacy while managing vendor relationships and optimizing data infrastructure costs

Required qualifications

• 10+ years in Data Engineering/Software Engineering, with at least 5+ years in senior leadership roles
• Deep architectural knowledge of modern data stack technologies such as Snowflake, Airflow, and dbt
• Proven experience in leading organizations through significant technical and cultural changes
• Exceptional ability to communicate technical investments to non-technical partners and solve complex business problems with data
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
