Director of Data Engineering
Job Summary
Leading the enterprise Data Engineering organization, the full-time remote Director of Data Engineering will manage the design, development, and modernization of data platforms, while establishing engineering standards and mentoring high-performing teams.
Key responsibilities
- Build and mentor a high-performing Data Engineering team while establishing engineering standards and practices
- Serve as the technical leader for the Databricks platform, defining best practices and driving adoption of new capabilities
- Modernize legacy data platforms by migrating ETL workloads to cloud-native architectures and optimizing data pipelines
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- 10+ years of enterprise Data Engineering experience, with 5+ years in leadership roles within large enterprises
- Expert-level experience with the Databricks Lakehouse Platform and strong knowledge of Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and SQL
- Proven experience in modernizing enterprise data platforms and implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong understanding of Medallion Architecture and modern enterprise data architectures
