Director of Data Engineering
Job Summary
Leading the Google Cloud data engineering function, the full-time Director of Data Engineering will manage the technical vision, oversee solution delivery, and drive data governance initiatives while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Define and execute the technical vision for GCP Data Engineering, focusing on data modeling, ingestion pipelines, and cloud cost optimization
- Oversee the design and deployment of enterprise data platforms using Google Cloud services, including BigQuery and Dataflow
- Lead the implementation of data governance and security frameworks, ensuring compliance and data lineage
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering and enterprise architecture, with 5+ years in people management
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud data solutions, including BigQuery and Dataflow
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience in deploying data pipelines for LLMs and GenAI workflows
- Strong understanding of Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise data security practices
