Director of Data Engineering
Job Summary
Leading a team of approximately 10 engineers and QA professionals, the full-time remote Director of Data Engineering will oversee the enterprise data platform's lifecycle, manage architectural strategies, and ensure data infrastructure aligns with operational and strategic goals.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the data engineering and QA team, focusing on performance management and capacity planning
- Own the architectural vision and platform evolution roadmap for the enterprise data platform, ensuring scalability and compliance
- Oversee the design and maintenance of production ETL pipelines, ensuring high reliability and performance across data processing operations
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field; experience may substitute for education
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or data architecture roles
- 3+ years of direct people management experience leading technical teams
- Expert-level SQL proficiency and working knowledge of Python for data engineering
- Experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) at enterprise scale
