Director of Data Governance

Job Summary

Leading the design and implementation of an enterprise data governance framework, the full-time remote Director of Data Governance will manage governance standards, engage with stakeholders, and operationalize data ownership to ensure data quality and compliance across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead the enterprise data governance strategy, framework, and operating model
• Establish policies and procedures for data quality, metadata management, and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Drive stakeholder engagement through governance councils and facilitate accountability in data management practices

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related fields
• Proven experience building and scaling enterprise data governance programs
• Strong understanding of data management disciplines including data quality and privacy
• Hands-on experience with data governance or catalog tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation)
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value
