Director of Data Operations
Job Summary
Driving the operational excellence of data pipelines, the full-time salaried Director of Data Operations will establish a Center of Excellence for data operations, oversee the reliability and quality of production data pipelines on the Snowflake platform, and lead a distributed team to ensure efficiency and automation in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and manage a data operations Center of Excellence with a tiered support structure to drive efficiencies and automation
- Own the health and reliability of all data pipelines, defining and measuring SLAs/SLOs and reliability KPIs
- Lead the Data Reliability Engineering function, implementing best practices for operational data quality and incident management
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's preferred
- 10+ years in data engineering/data operations, with at least 4 years in a leadership role
- Deep operational experience with Snowflake in production environments
- Strong background in orchestration tools and modern DataOps/SRE practices
- Proven track record in establishing reliability practices and improving pipeline reliability
