Director of Data Platform
Job Summary
Leading the data lifecycle in a full-time remote capacity, the Director of Data Platform will architect and manage the data infrastructure, ensuring reliability and performance while mentoring a distributed engineering team and collaborating with cross-functional partners to drive strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Architect the data foundation, managing pipeline orchestration and dbt projects to ensure data quality and accessibility
- Mentor and scale a high-performing data engineering team, focusing on technical growth and architectural excellence
- Collaborate with Analytics and Data Science teams to define technical roadmaps and maintain clear ownership boundaries between core systems and analytics
Required qualifications
- Over a decade of experience in data engineering or platform domains, with at least 4 years in leadership roles
- Hands-on mastery of modern cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery) and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Dagster, Airflow)
- Expert-level proficiency in dbt, including project architecture and integration with BI tools
- Strong background in dimensional modeling and advanced SQL and Python skills
- Professional fluency in HIPAA regulations and experience with sensitive healthcare data infrastructure
