Director of Data Science

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Director of Data Science & Machine Learning to lead its ML organization and define the strategic direction for enhancing the member experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the ML roadmap, aligning investments with business priorities
• Architect and deliver the ML layer for a server-driven personalization platform
• Develop production ML decision systems and partner with cross-functional teams to integrate ML into business workflows

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied ML engineering, with at least 3 years in leadership roles
• Deep technical expertise in search, retrieval, ranking, and/or recommendation systems
• Proven track record of building and scaling an ML organization
• Experience designing and deploying ML systems that drive business outcomes in e-commerce or consumer-facing platforms
• Familiarity with ML platform and infrastructure patterns
