Director of Data Science

Job Summary

Driving product and business impact, the full-time remote Director of Data Science will develop and mentor data scientists, guide multiple data science projects, and enhance the data pipeline while fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and mentor data scientists, setting clear expectations and providing hands-on guidance
• Oversee data science projects involving statistical modeling, experiment design, and classifier implementation
• Collaborate cross-functionally to validate strategies through data and improve the data pipeline

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data science or ML engineering, with 4+ years in leadership roles
• Expertise in deploying ML and NLP solutions in production environments
• Strong coding skills in Python or a comparable high-level language
• Advanced SQL and query optimization skills, with familiarity in columnar databases
• Experience with LLM/AI, including fine-tuning and designing experiments with privacy-constrained data
