Director of Data Science

Job Summary

To lead and scale the data science practice, the full-time remote Director of Data Science will architect development standards, drive model development, and mentor team members while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and enforce cohesive development standards across the data science team
• Drive experiments and model development with a fit-for-deployment mindset
• Establish success criteria and monitoring standards for every model

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in applied, code-first data science and analytics within insurance or adjacent industries
• Demonstrated success in building reusable ML frameworks and engineering standards
• Hands-on expertise in the full model lifecycle, from data exploration to deployment
• Collaborative instinct with experience working across multiple technical teams
• Strong mentorship skills with a track record of elevating technical standards within a team
