Director of Data Science

Job Summary

To support a growing data-driven organization, the remote full-time Director of Data Science will manage the development of predictive models for vendor matching, order routing, and supply chain optimization while leading a team of data scientists and ensuring alignment with operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Anchor the roadmap to the P&L by quantifying the financial impact of vendor matches, mis-routed orders, and network bottlenecks
• Build measurement infrastructure alongside models to provide proof of impact on cost, quality, and customer experience
• Lead and grow a team of data scientists, ensuring high delivery standards while remaining hands-on in model development

Required qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Data Science
• 8+ years of experience in data science, including 3+ years managing a team of data scientists
• Prior experience at an early-stage healthcare startup with expertise in claims data and health outcome measurements
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with the ability to write and optimize production-quality code
• Track record of shipping machine learning products from experimentation to production in collaboration with data engineering
