Director of Data Science

Job Summary

Leading the Credit Strategy data science function, the full-time Director of Data Science will advance capabilities in underwriting, credit risk modeling, and AI-enabled analytics while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute the credit risk data science roadmap across various risk and performance metrics
• Lead model development initiatives throughout the full model lifecycle, ensuring scalability and governance
• Develop and mentor data science talent while establishing technical standards and best practices

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative STEM discipline or equivalent work experience
• 7 years of experience in consumer lending, fintech, or credit risk analytics
• 3 years of experience leading data science or credit risk modeling initiatives
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, with strong knowledge of machine learning and statistical modeling
• Proven ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions and evaluate model performance
