Director of Denial Recovery

Job Summary

Providing strategic leadership and operational oversight, the full-time remote Director of Denial Recovery will manage denial resolution processes, optimize reimbursement strategies, and lead a high-performing team to address denied and underpaid claims effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Set and oversee the enterprise denial recovery strategy, ensuring alignment with revenue and compliance goals
• Lead performance improvement initiatives to prevent denials and accelerate recovery, utilizing data-driven methods
• Establish and maintain a robust quality assurance program for appeals and documentation compliance across systems

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Administration, Finance, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred
• Ten years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, with at least seven years in denial management
• Five years of leadership experience supervising teams in denial resolution or related revenue cycle functions
• Expertise in denials management and knowledge of government and commercial payer requirements
• Proficiency with Epic Hospital Billing (HB) and/or Professional Billing (PB) preferred
