Job Summary

Leading and scaling multiple engineering teams, the full-time remote Director of Engineering will oversee complex modernization programs for state clients, ensuring high-quality delivery and developing engineering leaders while managing client relationships and navigating project complexities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and develop engineering teams, fostering strong leadership and career growth
• Own outcomes across a portfolio of client engagements, ensuring consistent execution and high-quality results
• Provide technical leadership and shape strategies to address client challenges and deliver sustainable solutions

Required qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, including leadership of engineering teams
• 5+ years of experience managing multiple engineering teams with delivery responsibility across a large organization
• Proven ability to deliver complex work while balancing technical quality and strategic priorities
• Experience influencing technical strategy and driving alignment across teams
• Strong technical judgment with the ability to enhance system design and engineering practices
