Director of Engineering

Job Summary

Leading a team of 18 in a remote capacity, the full-time salaried Director of Engineering will oversee technical execution, drive team performance, and ensure architectural excellence while fostering a culture of growth and innovation within the engineering function.

Key responsibilities

• Set clear goals and establish engineering processes to ensure timely delivery of high-quality work
• Lead and develop engineering talent, providing coaching and performance feedback while maintaining high standards
• Provide architectural oversight and champion best practices in code quality, observability, and system design

Required qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years in engineering management, preferably managing multiple teams
• Strong full-stack background with experience in Node.js, TypeScript, React, Postgres, and AWS
• Proven track record in building and retaining high-performing teams in fast-paced environments
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with AI tools and their integration into engineering workflows
