Job Summary
Leading a team of engineers, the full-time remote Director of Engineering will oversee software engineering for device products and operations, manage hiring and performance, and contribute to technical direction while championing AI-assisted practices across multiple product areas.
Key responsibilities
- Own engineering outcomes for device product areas, including field operations tooling and patient engagement technology
- Manage a blended team of senior engineering leads and individual contributors, overseeing hiring and career growth
- Lead code reviews and guide teams on technical best practices while contributing directly to the codebase
Required qualifications
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in leadership roles across multiple product areas
- Hands-on experience with Android software development, including custom ROMs and IoT device communication protocols
- Experience with front-end frameworks (JavaScript or TypeScript) and backend services supporting device fleets
- Proficiency in AI-assisted development tools and practices, with a focus on driving adoption within engineering teams
- Experience managing both onshore and offshore engineering teams, including hiring and performance management
