Director of Engineering
Job Summary
Leading a team of Engineering Managers, the full-time Director of Engineering will drive the technical vision and operational excellence for the Insurance Product Configuration & Enrollment Platform in a remote setting, ensuring scalable and reliable system architecture while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical vision for the engineering teams, aligning with Bestow's platform strategy and business objectives
- Oversee delivery commitments to carrier partners, managing UAT handoff dates and incident responses effectively
- Lead, mentor, and develop Engineering Managers, building high-performing teams with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of professional software development experience, with 5+ years in engineering management
- Proven ability to design and operate distributed systems and microservices architectures at scale
- Extensive experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
- Strong background in Golang and/or Python, including API design and asynchronous messaging patterns
