Director of Engineering

Job Summary

Leading a remote engineering team, the full-time Director of Engineering will manage the engineering and design functions for EV charging, battery energy storage, and edge compute projects, ensuring timely delivery from site qualification to construction readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and scale project engineering functions, ensuring accountability for the entire process from site qualification to construction readiness
• Define design package content and quality gates, maintaining an aggressive timeline for project throughput
• Build and retain a high-performing team of internal engineering resources while managing external engineering consultants

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline, or 12+ years of relevant experience
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in EV charging, renewable energy, or utility-scale development
• 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams and managing design organizations
• Demonstrated ownership of engineering standards and quality assurance across multiple projects
• Deep knowledge of utility interconnection and AHJ permitting requirements
