Job Summary

Serving as the principal writer and communications strategist for the President, the full-time Director of Executive Communications will craft and manage the president's voice across various platforms, ensuring alignment with institutional messaging and values while maintaining confidentiality and strategic communication practices.

Key responsibilities:
  • Craft presidential remarks, speeches, and formal addresses for diverse engagements
  • Align communications with the president's brand and the university's strategic priorities
  • Build partnerships with campus units to support the President's Office's communication needs
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
  • Progressive experience in executive communications or high-level editorial roles (typically 7+ years)
  • Demonstrated ability to capture and sustain an executive's voice across varied formats
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with familiarity with AP style
  • Experience working in a confidential, high-profile executive office environment
