Director of Finance and Controller

Job Summary

To lead the accounting and finance function of a growing nonprofit, the full-time salaried Director of Finance and Controller will manage the general ledger, oversee financial reporting, and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions while serving as a key finance partner to program divisions.

Key responsibilities

• Own the general ledger, monthly close process, and prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Manage accounting and reporting for non-U.S. operations, ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements
• Lead the finance team, driving process improvements and maintaining the finance systems stack

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with a full close cycle and consolidated financial statements
• Deep working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
• Experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency, or multi-country environment
• Demonstrated ownership of external audits and internal control environments
• Strong ERP and systems fluency with a focus on process automation
