Director of Finance and Operations

Job Summary

To support a growing nonprofit dedicated to ending factory farming, the full-time remote Director of Finance and Operations will manage financial operations, oversee compliance and reporting, and enhance organizational effectiveness through strategic partnerships and operational improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Develop and present financial reports to senior management and the Board of Directors, ensuring compliance with funder requirements
• Design and improve operational systems and processes that support a remote-first organization

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of direct supervisory experience in a nonprofit setting
• 5+ years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role
• Deep knowledge of nonprofit accounting (GAAP) and grant compliance
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Google Sheets
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership
