Director of Financial Planning

Job Summary

To enhance and run the financial planning and analysis function, the remote Director of Financial Planning will manage the company's financial model, serve as a finance partner to R&D leadership, and lead the selection and implementation of an FP&A platform while building a finance team as the company transitions from clinical to commercial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the company-wide financial model, integrating P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow across pipeline programs
• Build and maintain clinical study budgets and forecasts, partnering closely with R&D and CMC leadership
• Design and run the annual budget and long-range plan, including target-setting processes and headcount planning

Required qualifications

• 8-12 years of progressive finance and FP&A experience in animal health, biotech, or R&D-heavy businesses
• Expertise in clinical study financial planning and understanding of accruals and spend curves
• Hands-on experience with an FP&A platform and participation in its implementation
• Strong accounting fundamentals and ability to support financial close processes
• Demonstrated ability to present financial results and variance narratives to executive audiences
