Director of Foundation Relations

Job Summary

To lead foundation fundraising efforts, the full-time remote Director of Foundation Relations will manage the entire process from prospect identification to proposal development and stewardship, while collaborating with senior leadership and overseeing a Senior Grants Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and execute a comprehensive institutional giving strategy to develop a robust pipeline of foundations capable of making significant gifts
• Cultivate and steward relationships with funders, serving as the primary contact and ensuring a mission-driven partnership experience
• Oversee grant writing and reporting, managing timelines and ensuring high-quality submissions across the foundation portfolio

Required Qualifications

• At least 7 years of fundraising experience with a focus on foundation relations and a proven track record of securing significant grants
• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to design cultivation plans and steward existing partnerships effectively
• Exceptional writing and editing abilities, capable of translating complex programs into compelling proposals and reports
• Organizational and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate input from various stakeholders while maintaining momentum
• Experience representing organizations in meetings with senior foundation leaders and serving as a credible external ambassador
