Director of General Accounting

Job Summary

Directing the day-to-day operations of General Accounting, the full-time salaried Director of General Accounting will oversee all General Ledger activities, manage disbursements including Payroll and Accounts Payable, and collaborate with the Controller to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Plans and organizes financial operations, assisting the Controller in developing accounting policies and internal controls
• Provides leadership and training to the Accounting Team while overseeing cash disbursements and reviewing daily transactions
• Coordinates external audits, prepares tax returns, and manages the optimization of ERP and GL systems for efficient financial processes

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Significant experience in accounting management, including oversight of general ledger and disbursement functions
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP systems and financial software
• Ability to lead and develop a team effectively
