Director of Inland Marine

Job Summary

To lead the growth and profitability of Inland Marine lines of business, the full-time Director of Inland Marine will manage portfolio performance, develop underwriting standards, and serve as the highest level of field underwriting authority, with the opportunity to work in a regional office or remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Manage portfolio performance, including profitability, retention, and new business growth
• Develop and maintain underwriting standards and pricing guidelines in collaboration with various departments
• Monitor market trends and recommend product enhancements while building relationships with agency partners

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; relevant work experience may substitute for the degree
• Eight or more years of Inland Marine underwriting experience
• Three or more years of leadership experience in coaching or mentoring underwriting teams
• Demonstrated ability to develop underwriting guidelines and drive profitable business growth
• Experience managing underwriting profitability and portfolio performance preferred
